The Hidden Dangers of bad Workmanship
We were called back by a client for whom we had previously built a beautiful front porch. This time, we were asked to investigate a leaking window. Upon closer inspection, we discovered a more serious issue—poorly installed roofing by a previous contractor. The faulty work had led to water damage, and when we removed the siding, we found extensive rot and carpenter ant infestations that had compromised the wall all the way to the foundation.
Our team quickly responded by reframing the damaged walls and roof, and installing a new torch-down roof membrane for lasting protection. We also applied advanced waterproofing to the walls and installed strapping to create an essential air barrier, ensuring better protection from moisture in the future. To complete the project, we replaced the upper deck and installed new siding, giving the exterior a fresh, durable finish.
